Road Smart Kickstart is available free to all secondary schools in WA and the team is currently targeting schools in regional WA.
To book an incursion, please submit a form request through our Book a Session page.
If you are interested in Road Smart Kickstart but your school falls outside of the current target area, you can email us on roadsmart@rsc.wa.gov.au to express your interest. This will help us assess demand for our program and shape its growth.
Yes, the Road Smart Kickstart incursion is aligned to 2025 Western Australian health and physical education curriculum area for Years 7 and 8.

Yes, these include:
- A room or space on a ground floor that’s accessible via a ramp with standard doors (820mm minimum).
- A minimum floor space of 48m2.
- Access to the room a minimum of 2 hours before the first session for setup and 1.5 hours after for pack down.
Please note the Road Smart Kickstart van is 5.25m in length and requires approximately 3m of space at the rear for unloading.
While teachers do need to be present, they’re not required to assist in the incursion. Which means they’re free to sit back and enjoy watching their class learn about being safe on and around roads.
If you’d like to build and reinforce the learnings from your Road Smart Kickstart incursion, you might like to consider applying for a Road Smart Grant. With three streams to choose from, this program helps bring learnings from the incursion into a practical and local setting.
